Uniondale Community Council believes that, in Uniondale, every young person should have the opportunity to mature in an atmosphere that nurtures their development and their talent; that every senior citizen should feel safe and secure; that every homeowner should feel confident in their decision to reside here; and every business will benefit from a vital, prosperous environment.
Uniondale Community Council has served the Uniondale community since 1977 -- providing a variety of services of critical significance. They support and participate actively in assisting other community organizations such as the Uniondale Historical Society.
The youth project of the Uniondale Community Council (UCCYP) plays a vital role by offering programs for young people within the community. The project began in 1979 by providing high school and judo classes at a Methodist Church in the neighborhood. Today, the youth project operates from the premises of John J. Byrne Community Center
The UCCYP programs comprise of:
- Advantage After-School
- YDDP Partnership
