Scholarships Available for Uniondale Mental Health Professionals
Helping Hands Psychotherapy is proud to partner with the John J. Byrne Community Center to offer scholarships for our continuing education program.
We believe in helping professionals grow through continuing education, and helping individuals heal through trained professionals.
We are committed to supporting the professional growth and leadership of mental health professionals who either live, work or provide services in the Uniondale community. This scholarship is designed to reduce barriers to continuing education and empower clinicians working at the intersection of mental health and social justice.
Eligibility:
- Must be a licensed or pre-licensed mental health professional (e.g., LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, MHC-LP, Psychologist, etc.)
- Must live in, work in, or serve the Uniondale Community
- Be actively engaged in providing clinical services, priority will be given to those in community-based mental health programs
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, healing, and/or civic engagement
- Priority areas include: trauma-informed care, culturally responsive practice, community mental health, policy/advocacy, perinatal mental health, and EMDR

Partial Scholarship Opportunities
We are committed to making these trainings as accessible as possible. A limited number of partial scholarships are available to reduce financial barriers, particularly for those who have been historically excluded from access to mental health training and professional development.
Scholarship amounts will vary based on need and available funds. We encourage applications from
- BIPOC clinicians
- LGBTQIA+ providers
- Those working in underserved communities
- Individuals with lived experience related to the training focus
- Anyone experiencing financial hardship
- Applicants must either live, work or provide services in the Uniondale community.

- All applications and decisions about scholarships are confidential and available to HHP staff only
- Scholarships are awarded only before registration; we are unable to provide refunds to registrations already purchased
- Partial scholarships available based on need. Amounts vary.
