Scholarships Available for Uniondale Mental Health Professionals
The John J. Byrne Community Center is proud to partner with Helping Hands Psychotherapy to offer “Healing Trauma Through Art,” a powerful, experiential training designed for mental health professionals and community healers who work with trauma-impacted individuals and communities.
This training blends clinical insight with creative expression, providing participants with hands-on tools to explore and process trauma through the arts. Whether you’re a seasoned clinician or a community-based support worker, this program offers a supportive and enriching environment to enhance your skills and broaden your approach to healing.
Who Should Attend?
- Mental health counselors, social workers, and psychologists
- Art therapists, educators, and expressive arts practitioners
- Community organizers, peer advocates, and helping professionals working in trauma-informed settings
- Especially encouraged: Providers serving the Uniondale area
Scholarships Available
In an effort to expand access and support our local community, scholarships are available for professionals working in or serving Uniondale. These scholarships cover the full cost of training. Space is limited, so we encourage early application.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Licensed or pre-licensed mental health professional (LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, MHC-LP, Psychologist, etc.)
- Must live in, work in, or provide services to the Uniondale community
- Actively providing clinical services (priority for community-based providers)
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, healing, and/or civic engagement
- Priority areas include: trauma-informed care, culturally responsive practice, community mental health, policy/advocacy, perinatal mental health, and EMDR
Applications are reviewed with care and are confidential. Scholarships are awarded prior to registration only (no retroactive refunds).
